Use this form to create a list of URL templates that activate protection.
A request is the part of a full URL that follows the server host name. When the server receives a request, it checks to see if the request activates protection. The server then goes to its mapping rules to map the request to a particular file. It is important that any request that activates protection is also covered by a Pass or Exec rule in the mapping rules.
The protection setup you associate with a URL request template defines how you want to control access to the protected files. You can define the protection setup either in-line (as part of the document protection definition) or in a separate, named protection setup. If you define the protection setup in-line, you can only use the setup for the one URL request template. A named protection setup can be either one you have already defined or a new one you want to define now for the URL request template you enter on this form. If you create a new named protection setup for this URL request template, you can also use it later for other URL request templates.
Your choices in steps 1 and 2 indicate the position you want the new URL request template to have in the list. For example, if you select Insert before and Index 2, the new template will be second in the list. If you select Insert after and Index 4, the new template will be fifth in the list.
If you select In-line, clicking on Apply in the next step takes you to the Protection Setup form where you can define the in-line protection setup.
If you select Named, use the field next to the button to enter either the name of an existing protection setup or the name of a new protection setup you want to create. If you enter a new name, clicking on Apply in the next step takes you to the Protection Setup form where you can define the named protection setup.
